The Boulay Sound
Mostly from Sudbury and Toronto Ontario, Ray Boulay has lived in BC since 2008 but has called New Westminster home since 2012.
A well-seasoned acoustic singer-songwriter, Ray has released two solo albums - ROCKSTAR 48 and INTAKE, as well as two ensemble albums - LIGHTING IN A BOTTLE and ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM with the hard rock group, THE DEADWAX COLLECTIVE.
Currently, Ray collaborates with New Westminster legend, Neil Bradshaw crafting material such as the 'big foot song', Where Legends Run, which has been featured in two Big Foot documentaries, and the very personal, soon to be released, From The Inside, and Houdini.
Ray regularly performs solo acoustic shows featuring his original plus unique cover songs at house parties and pubs in the lower Mainland of BC.
Using classical voice training and rock vocal stylings, Boulay blends his influences along with electronically timed sound cues giving the audience a memorable theatrical-esk performance of weirdness and fun.
Operatic, Dynamic, Alchemic
Outside of music, Boulay works in the Film & TV Industry as a set dresser currently on, The Last Of Us. He is an active New Westminster community volunteer having served as Vice President on the executive board of the Vagabond Players Theatre Society, located at the Bernie Legge Playhouse in Queens Park, New Westminster. In addition, he performs duties as Sergeant-at-Arms for the New Westminster Toastmasters chapter, Just Pros.
In 2024, Ray was nominated for the New Westminster Chamber of Commerce Platinum Artist of the Year Award for his contributions as an actor, graphic designer, and set decorator for productions mounted by the Vagabond Players Theatre Society.
